Record Cabinet, third prototype. Divider spacing finally right — 12" sleeves sit upright without leaning, with room for a finger either side. First two versions held the records too tight. You learn that by using it, not drawing it.
↳ Prototyping, Aluminum fabrication, Melbourne
Screw etching, first samples back. Logo legible at 8mm head diameter, barely — which is about right. If you have to look twice, good.
↳ Laser etching, Hardware, Supplier trials
Mirror finish tests. Polished 3mm panel next to the same panel after two weeks on the studio floor. The scratched one is better. Publishing both photos.
↳ Finishing, Material Tests
Side Table, folding trials. 3mm folds clean at this radius; 4mm wanted a bigger tool and lost the sharp edge. Staying at 3mm everywhere except the base — that stays 6mm, it needs the weight.
↳ Prototyping, Sheet metal, Panel spec
Offcuts. The factory keeps a bin of what gets trimmed. Some of these shapes are better than things I've designed on purpose. Might become something.
↳ Process, Material, Ideas
First flat sheet delivered to the workshop. Everything the label makes starts as this — one material, cut and folded. Photographed it before anyone touched it.
